The business is owned and run by Nicolas Khalili and Rejane Salgado. Nicolas is from Strasbourg, France and Rejane from Belo Horizonte in Brazil. The pair met in Paris in 1998 and discovered a shared love of Britain’s rich architectural heritage and a belief that this was entirely compatible with their passion for beautiful, modern design.
Nicolas Khalili
Managing Director, Born in France, ARB DPLG Architect
Nicolas has worked on sustainable tower design in Malaysia with award-winning architect Ken Yeang. He has also worked on hotel design in the United States before setting-up HWO Architects. Nicolas has taught architectural design at the Architectural Association and Greenwich University from 1999 to 2000.
Rejane Salgado
Design Director, Born in Brazil, Brazilian CREA Architect
Rejane has worked on prominent high-rise residential buildings in Brazil before joining Elizabeth de Portzamparc in Paris to work on Bordeaux’s Tram and the interiors of the French Embassy in Berlin. Rejane is a Masters Graduate in Public Space Design from University of Belleville, Paris.
Jonathan Richards
Senior Technical Manager, BA (Hons) Dip Arch UCL
Jon joined HWO in May 2008 following his extensive experience in many fields from working in Offices of world renowned Zaha Hadid to involvement in various refurbishments and new-built projects around London. He also proved himself as a Visiting Critic for the Bartlett School of Architecture and for the University of North London.
Jon handles technical side of the practice as well as supervises assistants.
